Background

One of 13 Healthe Care private hospitals and day surgeries in New South Wales that had a protected action ballot result for the ANMF on 14 October 2026. The NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association, the ANMF's NSW branch, took protected action at Healthe Care sites in an earlier round in 2023.

Earlier round: the NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association held a four-hour stop-work at Wollongong Day Surgery, and members at five other Healthe Care hospitals took lighter protected action such as badges and overtime and roster-change bans. The union was seeking shift-by-shift staffing ratios and a pay rise; Healthe Care had offered 1.75% in total after an earlier 2.5% a year offer was rejected in December 2022.
